The challenge: Young adults need training in basic daily living skills: preparing healthy foods, practicing good personal hygiene, maintaining a clean and safe environment. Many adults–even in their 30s and 40s– still live at home with their parents, who are aging themselves. Programs that combine life skills training with overnight respite opportunities do not exist.
The solution: Le Bayit, a life skills training program in a simulated duplex, is scheduled to open this fall. Le Bayit will offer small groups of individuals opportunities to sleep away from home on a regular basis while practicing skills in a real life environment. Applications are now being accepted. For more information, contact or visit Le Bayit: A Path to Home.
Alink also runs a life skills training program on Sunday afternoons. Small groups of young adults work with educators to improve their domestic skills, such as cooking and social skills. More info HERE.
