Health

The challenge:  The health needs of neurodiverse young adults are vast, and if not met, their physiological, cognitive and mental health may decline rapidly as they age. The health and social services systems are complex and difficult for anyone to navigate; they pose extra challenges for neurodiverse young adults.

The solution: Through its health committee, Alink is creating a master plan to identify and address the many health challenges young adults face and to empower young adults and their caregivers. Alink is offering a weekly online dance class and is working with Montreal’s Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA to develop appropriate fitness training programs. The Y also offers social inclusion programs as well as affordable special needs memberships.

For more information about the Y fitness training program, contact Davide Salvoni at dsalvoni@ymywha.co. For more info about other Y programs and special memberships, contact the inclusion coordinator at inclusion@ymywha.com.
