February 2020 ” How Can We Co-Create an Inclusive Community?” with disability inclusion expert Shelly Christensen, author of “From Longing to Belonging: A Practical Guide to Including People with Disabilities and Mental Health Conditions in Your Faith Community.” In the morning, Shelly addressed congregants at Montreal’s Shaar Hashomayim synagogue; in the evening, she led a panel of local leaders in a discussion with stakeholders about housing, jobs and social engagement. Her message to decisionmakers: How can you know what people want and need? Just ask them.
